This is the relocated Dennis and Greenbriar Cemeteries location;aka NFC-8-R, which is adjacent to Thacker Cemetery. These two cemeteries were 2 of 20 cemeteries that were relocated from the Norfork Dam basin in 1942-43. There were 23 graves, all unknowns, moved from the Dennis Cemetery, and 51 graves, 26 known and 25 unknown from the Greenbriar Cemetery.Today only a few markers remain that are readable. At the time of relocation the graves were marked with painted wooden headstones which have since been lost to the elements.
