Steven Doyal Parnell drowned in a stock pond after wandering away from his home.

A three-year-old Norfork boy, Steve Doyal Parnell, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Doyal Parnell of Norfork, drowned last Friday in a stock pond after wandering away from his home, officers said.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:30PM by Dr. Jack Wilson, deputy county coroner. Dr. Wilson ruled that death was caused by accidental drowning. The body of the child was discovered by his mother.
In addition to the child's parents, survivors include three sisters, Betty Jean, Vicki Viola and Sharon Vaugh; the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lucy Powell of Norfork; the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Viola Wilso of Rolla, MO; and numerous cousins in the area.
Last rites were conducted Sunday afternoon at Galatia and interment was in the Galatia Cemetery. The McClure Service was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Garland Wickersham, James Douglass, Dean Rouse and Bob Fuller.
