September 27, 1921-July 5 1966
Funeral services for Edward Jackson Parnell, 44, of Mt. Home, who died Tuesday of last week in a Little Rock hospital were conducted at 2PM Saturday at the East Side Baptist Church.
Rev. O.I. Ford pastor officiated, and interment was in the Galatia Cemetery, near Norfork, with McClure Service in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Parnell was born at Norfork, Sep 27, 1921, the son of Abe Parnell and Rose Whitfield Parnell, and was a lifetime resident of Baxter County. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed as a route salesman by the Mt. Home LP Gas Company. He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church and served as a deacon of the church and song director.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred Jones Parnell, two sons, Leon and Jimmy Dale, and a daughter, Mary Rose all of Mt. Home; a grandson, Larry Leon; his mother, Mrs. Rose Parnell, of Norfork; and a sister, Mrs. Monteen Hall of Mt. Home.
