John Benjamin Venable, 89, of Camden, AR passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 10, 1930 in Camden, AR to Frank and Rena Mae Peace Venable. He was a retired plant manager from Gilchrist Bag Company and he was an Elder of Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he served faithfully from the age of 16. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved God and traveling with his wife in their RV.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Morris Venable. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sue Venable of Camden, AR; daughters, Kathy Pennington and husband, Ray of Camden, AR, Tracy Reynolds and husband, J. C. of Camden, AR and Janet Copeland and husband, John of Malvern, AR; grandchildren, Kristi Dean and husband, Alan of Camden, AR, Cheryl Norman and husband, Joe of Macon, GA, Jessica Duke and husband, Owen of Cabot, AR, T. J. Reynolds of Camden, AR, Jonathan Reynolds of Camden, AR, Season Pennington of Bentonville, AR, Dani McCarter and husband, Justin of Russellville, AR, Carrie Russo and husband, David of Shingletown, CA, Tami Copeland of Rohnert Park, CA and John W. Copeland of Long Beach, CA; great grandchildren, Kyle Copeland, Aubrey Rains, Karson Dean, Logan Reynolds, Noah Blessing, Atticus Reynolds, Tucker Duke, Kynslee McCarter, Gavin McCarter, Kelsey Watson, Allison Rhodes, Kennedy Smith, Aiden Smith and Jagger Smith; great great grandchild, John A. Copeland and Caiden Rhodes; brother, Donald Venable and wife, Terrie of Camden, AR; and sisters, Vernelle Lawler of Tucson, AZ and Linda Harrison and husband, Myrle of Camden, AR; uncle, Otis Peace of Camden, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express appreciation to his caregivers, Elsie Jenkins, Vickie Champ, Teresa Green, Shawana Davis and Asia Watson.

Funeral service will be 2:00PM Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in Bethesda Cemetery. Reverends Ron Fell, Danny York and Chris Morgan will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday at the funeral home.
