Herschal B. Gatling, aged 61 died at his home in Bearden at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. He is a retired druggist and a life long resident of Bearden. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Deci Earle of Camden, one sister, Mrs. W. B. Williams of Texarkana, four brothers, Will and Garland, both of Bearden, Sidney and Dick of Dallas, Texas. Funeral services at 4 p.m. Saturday at Bearden Methodist Church. The family request no flowers be sent. Proctor's in charge. (Camden News - July 16, 1948)
