1882 - October 3, 1955
Mrs. Ola Walker Gatling of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Bearden, died in a Dallas Hospital at 9:30 Monday morning following a short illness. Mrs. Gatling was born in Fordyce, Arkansas. She married the late W. O. J. Gatling of Bearden and lived there until recently when she moved to Dallas. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Bearden, and was very active in Red Cross, Church club and community organizations while in Bearden. She was one of the founders of the Bearden Library and was a member of the Ouachita County Library Board until leaving Arkansas. She is survived by one sister Mrs. Ida Smith of Dallas; one son, Jeff Gatling of Camden; one grandson Richard Gatling of Camden; and one niece, Nora Smith of Dallas. Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist Church of Bearden, Arkansas Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. The body will be at the church from 9:00 until the time of the service.
