Clyde was a self ordained minister of the nondenominatial faith. He is the former owner of Watson Appliance and Furniture Store located at the corner of Main and & 7th Street in Van Buren. They lived in the apartment above the store until his retirement.

Obituary
Violet O. Watson, 87, of Van Buren, Arkansas died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at a local hospital. She was a member of Armour Avenue First Freewill Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde of Van Buren; one sister,Lelia; and three brothers.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetry under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
