Services for Rudolph (sic) J. Torrance of Norfork will be at 10AM Saturday at Norfork Baptist Church with the Rev. John Evans officiating. Mr. Torrance died Wednesday (April 19, 1995) at his home. He was 82.
Visitation will be from 9AM to 9PM today at Roller Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends fro 6-8PM. Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery with Bud Henzilch, Lynn Torrance, Jack Hughes, Dale Inskeep, James Barker and Fred Hiner serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Lawrence, Dick DeAtley, Vero Hall, Pete Riggins, Alex Hamilton and Dwight Inskeep.
A lifetime resident of Norfork, Mr. Torrance was born there Nov 26, 1912, a son of the late Joe and Alice Arnold Torrence. He and the former Hazel Beard were married Jan 19, 1935, at Norfork. Mr. Torrance was a retired self-employed barber. He was a member of Norfork Baptist Chruch and the Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army. Mr. Torrance enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Torrance of the home; two daughters, Gwen Partee of Mt. Home and Betty Wolf of Lenexa, KS; a brother, Charlie Torrance of Norfork; a sister, Myram Inskeep of Salesville; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements are by Roller funeral Home.
