A graveside service for Charley J. Torrance will be at 2PM today at Galatia Cemetery with Bro Delman Parnell officiating. Mr. Torrance died Sunday (July 16, 2000) at Baxter Manor Nursing Home. He was 85.
Mr. Torrance was born on March 15, 1915, at Norfork to Joe and Alice Arnold Torrance. He was married to Viola Beard Torrance and was a carpenter and a bricklayer. He was a lifetime resident of the area. He was a member of the Norfork First Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Lynn Torrance and wife Twyla, of Mt. Home; one sister, Myram Inskeep of Salesville; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; an several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two daughters, Nina Torrance and Novella Beck; one brother, Rudolph Torrance; and one sister, Myrtle Barker.
Pallbearers include Herbie Berke, Timmy Beck, Chad Burghart, and Jeff Torrance.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks, the Area Agency of Aging or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
