Hiram A. Sanders, aged 77, died at his home in Cullendale Sunday night at 9:30 o'clock. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Alvie Chambliss, Mrs. Leonard Lindsey, both of Bearden; Mrs. Ed Caldwell of Warren; Mrs. Allen Oliver of Hampton; seven sons, Curvis, Herschel, and Allen, all of Hampton; Lonnie, Lewis, and Roy, all of Cullendale; and Clyde of Hope; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Johnson of Bearden. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at New Hope Cemetery near Thornton, by the Rev. J. L. Westbrook of Texarkana. Proctor Mortuary in charge. He is also survived by 36 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. They are: Doyle Sanders, Orlando Sanders, Reubel Sanders, Lucian Lindsey, Edward Sanders, and Dorris Sanders. (Camden News - June 9, 1947)
