Fred B. Hank Hartsfield, 85 of Huttig, AR; died on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Lifetouchs John R. Williamson Hospice House following a lengthy illness. Born on January 2, 1925 in Huttig, AR; Fred was the son of Ambers and Mary Katherine Jameson Hartsfield. Fred served in Navy during World War II. After the War, he stayed in San Francisco, CA working for and retiring from Pacific Gas and Electric. Fred was a member of Harper Springs Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading westerns, traveling, and fishing. Fred was a fan of John Wayne movies and was an artist. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers James and Al Hartsfield and a sister Eleanor Dollar. Survivors are his wife Doris Smith Hartsfield of Huttig; sons Fred B. Hartsfield Jr. and wife Harriett of Antioch, CA, Ronald Charles Hartsfield of Sweet Home OR; daughters Freda McClellan and husband Russell of Oil City, PA, Cindy Hartsfield of Franklin, PA, Paula Hutton and husband Eric of Sweet Home, OR; stepdaughters Gail Darden husband Clyde of Huttig, Chris Ellis of El Dorado, Perri Jo McLure husband Danny of Hot Springs, Carla Nason husband Shawn of Orlando, Fl; a brother Ambers Hartsfield and wife Mildred of Blanchard, LA. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a special friend, Eddie Russell. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m.; Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Harper Springs Baptist Church with Rev Joe Tinsley and Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Interment will follow at Harper Springs Cemetery by Bailey Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Eddie Russell, Fulton Lum, Jr., Don Smith, Kendal Dollar, Gerald Dollar, Jr., Johnny Dollar, Curtis Dollar, Billy Sandifer, Danny McLure, and Karl Hartsfield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The family wishes to thank Freds three special nieces for their loving care: Darlene Dollar, Geraldine Lum and Beverly Toms. Memorials may be made to Lifetouch Hospice, 2301 Champagnolle Rd, El Dorado, AR 71730 or Harper Springs Cemetery Fund, c/o Huey Russell, 201 Cypress St, Huttig, AR 71747.
