Kenneth E. Brown, 89, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, in Richland Hills, Texas.

He retired as shipping and purchasing supervisor and was in inventory and safety with Weldon, Williams & Lick for 45 years. He was active in Woodman of the World Insurance Co. and was a counselor with Woodman Youth Organizations. He served as local president of Lodge Nine and on the National Judiciary Committee for Woodman of the World. He was a deacon and Sunday school department director at Grand Avenue Baptist Church and the widower of Maxine Brown.

Funeral was 2 p.m. today at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

He is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Brown Acuff of Fort Worth, Texas; one son, Kenneth "Gene" Brown of Fort Worth; one brother, Van of Fort Smith; eleven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ray Stewart, Hershel White, Bill Graper, Wayne Treadway, M.L. Summers and Carl Don Allen.
