Bertha Mae Riggs Green, 95, of Fort Smith, was called home to her eternal life with her heavenly Father in her home surronded by her family after a short illness. She has loved and cared for all her family in a special loving way all of her life. Mother loved her Jesus more than anything and had the strongest faith which she had till the very end.

She was born August 29 1912 in Van Buren, AR, to the late William Franklin Howard and Nettie Teague Howard. She and her late husband Wells Riggs were the owners of Riggs Studio on Garrison Avenue for 40 years. She was a member of Northside United Pentecostal Church, Order of the Eastern Star Harmony Chapter, White Shrine of Jerusalem and the American Grotto Caldren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Wells G. Riggs, Sr. and Richard Green, one sister Helen Hensley and three brothers Joe Howard, Buford Howard, and Bill Howard.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 6, 2007, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

She is survived by one daughter Charlotte Riggs Yates of Fort Smith, AR and North Little Rock, AR, one son George Riggs and wife Kathy of Fort Smith AR, two step daughters Dixie Green of Fort Smith and Vickie Oswald and Husband Frank of Fort Smith, two sisters Margie Semlte of Rudy AR, and Luddie Gray and husband Joe of Rudy, AR and three brothers Troy Howard and wife Velma of Cedarville, AR, Harold Howard of Rudy, AR, Leroy Howard and wife Linda of Alma AR., five grandchildren Paul Ray Johnson IIJenifer Johnson Parks, Melanie Spencer, Heather Riggs and Alice Todd and three great grandchildren, Aubrey Parks, Noah Riggs, and Jordan Spencer.

Pallbearers will be Steve Riggs, Dale Sawyer, Joe Spencer, Billy Todd, Donald Martin, and Wendell Martin.
