Ruth Jeanette Jeffus Renfro, age 83, went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2023. She passed
away peacefully in her sleep. Ruth was born on December 26, 1939, in Camden AR. Ruth has been
a member of Bethesda Cumberland Church since 1954. She graduated from Fairview High
School in 1957. Ruth started her career in the banking industry after high school and married
her soulmate Ken Renfro on August 28th, 1959. Ruth did have a couple years hiatus to live
abroad with her husband’s career. They lived in Kuwait, Qatar, and Egypt. After retirement from
the banking industry, Ruth enjoyed spending time at their lake house on lake LBJ with their
yellow lab Taffy, hosting numerous family members and friends. Ruth enjoyed and was also
well decorated in marksmanship and skeet shooting.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ken Renfro of Cypress, TX; her parents, Virgil
and Dorothy Jeffus of Camden, AR; her brothers, Hugh Wayne and Rudolph Jeffus of Camden,
AR; her nephew, Walter Dale Jeffus of Little Rock, AR; her mother and father-in-law, Orlen and
Omer Renfro of Camden, AR.
Ruth is survived by her sister Ann Young of Camden, AR; her sisters-in-law, Mona and Vickie
Jeffus both of Camden, AR. She had numerous nieces and nephews who loved and will miss
their Aunt Ruth.
Funeral services for Ruth will be Tuesday August 29th at 1 p.m. at Bethesda Cumberland Church.
Visitation will be at the church at 12 p.m. prior to the service. Interment to follow at Bethesda
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Guiding Eyes for the blind, Bethesda
Cemetery fund or Buena Vista Cemetery fund.
