February 26, 1935 - August 4, 2016

Virginia "Sue" Moore, 81, of Ft. Smith entered into heaven on August 4th, 2016 after a hard-fought battle at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Sue was born February 26th, 1935 in Midland, Arkansas and lived on Silk Stocking Street. During her early childhood, her family moved to Fort Smith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Jones (a coal miner), her mother Bessie May Brewer, her sister Vera Morreale, her sister Neva Autry (all from Ft. Smith) and her brother Jack Jones (Knoxville, Tennessee).

Survivors include her only child and daughter Andrea (Moore) Schreiner, son-in-law Andy, and grandchildren Lily and Jack (all from Denver). She also leaves three nieces: Vita Simpkins-Tyra (Fort Smith), Debbie Jones (Knoxville, Tennessee), Terri McNeal (St. Louis, Missouri), and two nephews: John Autry (Hot Springs), and Ross Morreale (Fort Smith) as well as 12 great nieces and nephews.

In her twenties, Sue worked as a salesclerk for the Arcade Department Store and as a receptionist for the Automotive (both in Fort Smith). In 1964, she married George Moore, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and together they moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma where she worked at the Okmulgee Courthouse in Homestead Exemptions. In 1972, she purchased The Blossom Shop, a local flower shop and, along with her husband, was the owner/operator/designer of it for sixteen years. During her years in Okmulgee, Sue enjoyed craft projects and boating and camping with her husband and daughter on Lake Eufaula.
In 1988, following a divorce, she returned to Fort Smith where she was a member of First Baptist Church. She worked as a florist at Villa Florist in Van Buren until her retirement.

In 2012, she moved to the Denver, Colorado area to be near her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. The last four years of her life were full of happy days spent with them. Together, they went on outings to parks and restaurants, played dominoes and cards, and spent many peaceful hours sitting outside Bear Creek Nursing Center in Morrison, Colorado looking at the view of Red Rocks and just talking.
Sue was a Christian and a devoted mother and grandmother.

Her funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17th, 2016 at Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel, 4817 Kelley Highway, Fort Smith, Arkansas with Interment to follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
