SPRINGDALE — Willard Garland Lawson, 88, of Springdale, Ark., passed away at his home Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021. Willard was born May 26, 1932, in Spring Valley, Ark. He was the son of Harvey Lawson and Stella Evans Lawson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 52 years Janet Lawson, son Ronnie Lawson and brother Willie Lawson.
Willard retired from George's after 30 plus years where he was the hatchery manager and attended the Faith in the Word Church. He served honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He loved working outside planting flowers and taking care of the lawn.
He is survived by son Ricky Lawson; grandsons Eli and Kory Lawson; brother Floyd Lawson; and very special friend Ethel Collins.
Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 1, 2021, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Forest Park Cemetery with military honors. SPRINGDALE — Janet R. Lawson, 67, of Springdale died Feb. 22, 2007, in Springdale.
She was born Sept. 3, 1939, in Garfield to Ray and Kathleen Cole Roney.
She attended the Springdale United Baptist Church and had worked as a clerical person at George's Hatchery.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Lawson.
Survivors include her husband, Willard Lawson of the home to whom she was married June 17, 1955; one son, Ricky Lawson of Springdale; one brother, Shelby Roney of Seligman, Mo.; one sister, Delores Yandell of Pea Ridge; three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Wood officiating, online at www.backstrom-pyeatte.com. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Lawson, Wayne Murphy, Danny Robinson, Bob Robinson, L.C. Ramsey and James Yandell. Honorary pallbearer will be Kory Lawson.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
