May 30, 1921 - December 31, 2012
William Elmer Taylor, age 91 of Junction City, passed from this life on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. Elmer was born on May 30, 1921 in Foreman, AR to the late Thomas Earl and Annie (Jones) Taylor.
Elmer was U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II. He worked as a Senior Operator for Monsanto Chemical, serving forty years before his retirement and was a member of The First Assembly of God Church in El Dorado. After retirement, Elmer drove a school bus for Junction City Schools and also enjoyed raising a vegetable garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carmen Taylor; one son, William Alvin Taylor; four sisters and three brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory include two grandchildren, Jillinn “Jill” White of Atlanta, GA and A.J. Taylor and his wife Molly of El Dorado; two great granddaughters, Addy Taylor and Lilly Taylor both of El Dorado; daughter in law, Sharon Taylor of El Dorado; two sisters, Alma Pickens of Locksburg, AR and Eula Bandy of Orange, TX also, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Bailey Chapel in Junction City with Pastor Al Womack officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Junction City.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House.
