When John A. Thompson was born in 1831 in Missouri, his father, Alexander, was 31 and his mother, Margaret, was 26. He married Henrietta H. Greenwade on June 11, 1859, in Audrain, Missouri. He died in 1896 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 65.
