Mavis Dorlene "Nanny" Whiddon Owen of El Dorado was born December 15, 1919, to Jeson Ebb Whiddon and Polly Francis Phillips Whiddon. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church for 70 plus years. "Nanny" received her heavenly wings Friday July 19, 2019, at the age of 99 years, 7 months and 4 days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Winford "Bill" Owen, a daughter, Kaye Eckhoff. She is survived by a daughter, Marguerite Spears and husband Brose "Sonny", of Benton, a son, Roy Gale Owen and wife Sandy of Pine Bluff, six grandchildren, Steve Spears, Jeff Eckhoff, Heidi Daugherty, Meredith Bailey, Lindsey McAlister, Ryane Sorey, ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday July 24, 2019, 10:00 a.m. until services time at 11:00 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Arlington Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.
In Lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to West Side Christian School, 2400 West Hillsboro, El Dorado, AR 71730.
