When Joseph Levi Adams was born on February 24, 1880, in Mayflower, Arkansas, his father, Zackary, was 31 and his mother, Madora, was 30. He married Lillie Mosely Adams on October 22, 1905, in Conway, Arkansas. They had 13 children in 12 years. He died on April 26, 1953, in his hometown at the age of 73, and was buried there.
