John Calvin Carter, 94, of 1831 Robins St., a retired farmer, died today (Sept.16,1964) at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leona Frank, in Little Rock, Arkansas, following an illness of two years.
Mr. Carter was born Jan.22, 1870 at Jackson, Miss., a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Foster Carter, and had lived in Arkansas since age seven. He came to Conway from White County.
He was a Nazarene.
Mr. Carter also is survived by six sons, Deloy and Raymond Carter of Conway, Odis, Hulon and Clarence Carter, all of North Little Rock, and Buford Carter of Wichita, Kan.; two other daughters Mrs. Velma Hawkins of North Little Rock and Miss Lillian Carter of Little Rock; a sister, Mrs. Floy Turner of Rosebud, three half-brothers, two half-sisters, 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was announced by McNutt Funeral Home.
