Brenda Lou Smith Speck 68, of North Little Rock, passed away Monday, May 09, 2011. She was born in Holland, AR to the late William Brenton and Mary Helen (Firestone) Smith. and was the granddaughter of James A. & Susan (Brantley) Smith and Howard W. & Liddie (Burger) Firestone.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam Speck; brothers, Harold M. Smith and Russell Smith; sisters, Kathryn Pruitt and Joyce Shiffrin.
Brenda retired from the Pulaski County School District and Baptist Medical Center. She was of the Baptist Faith. She will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by one brother, James H. Smith; and nieces, Jodi Chassells, Jayme Gentry; nephew, Jeff Smith; great-nieces Taylor Gabrielle Gentry and great-nephew, Gunnar Chassells; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2011 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (501-791-7400).
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the funeral home.
