September 3, 1894 - April 25, 1948
The funeral for Thomas M. Evans of Chidester, will be at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Baptist Church in Chidester, with Rev. H. R. Nabors officiating and burial in Chidester Cemetery. Active pallbearers: John Chester Clingan, Jimmy Yarbrough, John Sweatman, Silas Hindman, Leo Bray, and Harold Martin Gillespie. He was a veteran of World War I and the Masonic Lodge will be in charge at the grave. Proctor Mortuary will be in charge of arrangements. (Camden News - April 28, 1948)
