Arthur Bruce Allen the son of Sylph Bruce and Emma Allen was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas on February 27, 1929 and passed away at his home in Searcy, Arkansas on May 5, 2014 at the age of 85 years.
Mr. Allen was a faithful member of Valley Baptist Church. He was a former member of Kiwanis Club and the Heber Springs Chamber of Commerce. He was an amateur ham radio operator and a weather spotter in Cleburne County. Arthur had been a resident of Heber Springs where he was the owner of Pines Motel and moved to Searcy about 14 years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Emma Allen, his former wife Faye Allen, a step son David and a sister Lorene. Survivors are his wife Jo Ann Adams Allen, two step sons, Ronnie Webb and Dennis Webb, four step daughters Betty Sullivan, Pamela Ball, Beverly Weisbach and Teresa Scott besides other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 beginning at 1:00 PM at Valley Baptist Church 3328 Hwy 36 West in Searcy, Arkansas. Funeral Services will be held at the church at 2:00 PM the same day with interment in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens in Heber Springs, Arkansas by Rev. James Hays. The family asks that memorials be made to Valley Baptist Church, 3328 Hwy 36 West, Searcy, AR 72143.
