SPRINGDALE — Jessie Irene Jackson, 80, of Springdale, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Spring Valley to John and Effie White Hancock. Jessie enjoyed helping others. working puzzles, yard sales and taking walks. She was an active member of the Church of Truth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Jackson, and a son, Joe Jackson.
She is survived by five children, Janice White of Springdale, Naomi Jackson (Harry) of Springdale, Lester Jackson (Brandi) of Fayetteville, J.D. Jackson (Sherri) of Tontitown and Billy Jackson (Tonya) of Springdale; a sister, Audie Robbins of Bethel Heights; a daughter-in-law, Renee Jackson of Fayetteville; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Church of Truth. Interment will be at Burkshed Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m at the church.
Arrangements are with Heritage Funeral Home.
