Ella M. Mitchell, age 67, a resident of Russellville died Monday, May 6, 2002 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on June 18, 1934 in Russellville to James and Georgia I'Della Linzy Potter. She was the loving companion and wife of Rev. S. D. Mitchell for forty one years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Irene Stewart, Bessie Ann Potter and Jimmie Lee Williamson and one brother, Emmett Potter and a grandson, Mitchell Harris Williams. Mrs. Mitchell was a long time member of the Sinai Church of God in Christ in Conway and she served as the District Missionary of the Conway District Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include six sons and three daughters in law, Andy Wade Muagabe and Lorna of Los Angeles, Ronald L. Smith of Tacoma, Dennis M. Smith of Tulsa, Dale E. Mitchell of Russellville, James E. Smith and Sharron of Fresno, Sylvester Mitchell and Angela of Hot Springs; five daughters and three sons in law, Barbara A. Mitchell of Memphis, Nancy R. Jones and Johnnie of Baton Rouge, Shelia D. Parker and Earl of Glassborough, Donna K. Black and Lloyd of Russellville, Shelia A. Anderson of Russellville; 23 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Billie Sue Potter of Russellville; 5 sisters in law; 3 brothers in law.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 11, 2002 at the First Assembly of God Church officiated by Rev. Frank Anderson, Jr., First Administrative Assistant to the Bishop, 2nd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Arkansas, Church of God in Christ. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
