MELBOURNE — Virginia Durham Goggins, 58, of Melbourne died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at her home.
Born Feb. 20, 1954, in Melbourne, she was the daughter of Bedford and Goldie Radford Durham. She graduated from Oxford High School. She was a homemaker and an avid participant in Special Olympics, having received several gold medals for softball, bowling and track and field. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Goggins of Jonesboro; a daughter, Goldie Freeman of Jonesboro; three brothers, Sam Durham and Roy Durham, both of Melbourne, and Jack Durham of Oak Grove, Mo.; three sisters, Joyce Reynolds and Martha Peters, both of Melbourne, and Josephine Lemley of Lamar; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, James Durham, Gene Durham, Joseph Durham, David Durham and Bedford Durham; and a sister, Mary Lingel.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Twin Creek Church of Christ with Mike Martin officiating. Burial will be in Lonestar Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Derek Durham, Charles Smith, George Smith, George Gillihan, Tim Workman and Bob Peters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
