Della Mae Bennett died August 29, 2011, at White County Medical Center. She was a long time member of the United Church of God.
She was married to Hurshel Bennett for more than 45 years. He preceded her in death in August of 1982. Also preceding her in death was one great granddaughter.
Mrs. Bennett is survived by her five daughters: Melba Spiroff of Rose Bud, AR; Zerillda Wood (Don) of EI Dorado, AR; Ann Mullens (Therell) of Rose Bud, AR; Iris Kurck of Rose Bud, AR; and Vicki Hachmann (Bruce) of Stuttgart, AR.
Mrs. Bennett is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, one step grandchild, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren, and also one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Bennett always made her grandchildren welcome in her home where she spent many hours playing table games with them and creating many fond memories for them.
She enjoyed the outdoors and found many reasons to spend time outside the house. She enjoyed fishing, loved animals, and bird watching. She was an avid vegetable gardener and when the weather did not permit her to be outdoors, she enjoyed the art of making quilts.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 1, at Olmstead Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 2, in the Olmstead Chapel at 2:30 p.m. with Mr. Fred Nance officiating. Interment will follow in the Sidon Cemetery.
