William was a locomotive engineer by trade.
William had 3 different wives:
1. Martha Jane Morgan 1855-1883. Children with Martha were: Charles Eleazer; Margaret Joy; Thomas Duane.
About 1 year after Martha died,
2. Deborah Budd 1866-1912. Children with Deborah were: Clarence 1890 only lived 2 months; Earl 1898.
William divorced Deborah and then married
3. Amelia Scherrer 1871. Children with Amelia: William; Robert; Isaac; Togo; Blanche; Millard.
Rumor has it that while married to Amelia, he had another baby with Deborah.
