Obituary:
Mrs. Doris “Gramsie” (Linvell) Satterfield, of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born April 1, 1930 in Elgin, the daughter of Alf and Molly (Pellum) Linvell.
Mrs. Satterfield was a homemaker and a member of the Campbell Station Baptist Church. She was so proud to have been baptized by her grandson, Brandon Coe and Bro. Paul Miles.
Mrs. Satterfield enjoyed bird-watching, fishing, and going to yard sales. She loved riding through the countryside. Her greatest joy was helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Satterfield was preceded in death by her husband, and the love of her life, J.V. Satterfield; one great-grandson, Jaxson Steele; one nephew, Rick Satterfield; one brother, Ralph Linvell; five sisters, Mary Tackett, Leola Simmons, Ruth Cheshier, Ora Mitchell, and Ruby Neal Hembrey; and her parents.
She is survived by two daughters, Claudia Coe and husband, Stephen of Campbell Station, and Lavonne Templeton and husband, Ronny, of Swifton; four grandchildren, Kristy Smiltnieks and husband, Chris of Swifton, Brandon Coe of Campbell Station, Allison Beard and partner, Sara of Jonesboro, and Kristi Mathis of Rosie; her great-grandchildren, Eli and Sophie Smiltnieks, Abby, Emma, Bella, and Olivia Coe of Campbell Station, Connor Beard of Jonesboro, and River Mathis of Rosie; special nieces, Tobett Brock, Barbara Crumpton, Carolyn Melton, Wanda Sue Sheets, and Darlene Satterfield; a special nephew, Bobby Mitchell; and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Paul Miles officiating. Interment will follow in Arnold Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday 12:30 to service time.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ronny Templeton, Stephen Coe, Brandon Coe, Chris Smiltnieks, Eli Smiltnieks, and Larry Bailey. Odean Templeton is honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Jaxson Steele Memorial Scholarship Fund. Donations may be made at M&P Bank locations, or mailed to Jaxson Steele Scholarship, P.O. Box 5, Swifton, AR 72471.
