SILOAM SPRINGS — Alice L. Oakes, 62, of Siloam Springs died Nov. 1, 2000, at Siloam Springs. She was born March 11, 1938, in Verona, Mo., to Edward and Rachel Snider Brink. She moved to Northwest Arkansas 19 years ago from Missouri. She was a beautician and was a member of Siloam Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Verdane Oakes, to whom she was married in 1958; one son, David Oakes of Brickeys; two daughters, Alice Mahurin of Wheaton, Mo., and Delilah Jenkins of Siloam Springs; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella Mae Leeper of Kansas City, Mo.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs with Ron Ray officiating. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
