Vella Mae Burkes Carson, 82, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 in Helena, Arkansas.
Mrs. Carson was born January 21, 1928 in Luxora, Arkansas to the late James Robert Stevens and the late May Nora Owens Stevens.
She is survived by three sons, George Evans of Memphis, Tennessee, Terry Evans of West Helena and Darrell Burkes and wife, Audrey, of West Helena; two daughters, Pat Smith and husband, Randy, of Poplar Grove, Arkansas and Charlotte Vergara of West Helena; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by a son, Wayne Burkes.
Graveside services for Vella Carson were at Odd Fellows Cemetery in West Helena.
