February 26, 1879 - April 16, 1969
Mrs. E. N. Witt, 90, of 516 Hilton St., died early Wednesday morning in a local hospital following a brief illness. Born Feb. 26, 1897, in St. Elmo, Ill., she was the daughter of John William and Sara Ann Miller Rankin. A long time resident of El Dorado. Mrs. Witt was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, Robert E. Witt of El Dorado; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Halliburton of Florida; a sister, Miss Jessie Rankin of St. Elmo; four granddaughters, Mrs. Joe Witt Hess of El Dorado, Miss Sandra Sanders of Ruston, La., Mrs. Kenneth Rea, Jr of Ruston, and Mrs. J. Phillip Griffin of Magnolia; and one great grandchild, Joe Lyn Hess of El Dorado. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Chapel with Dr. David Shepperson officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - April 16, 1969)
