The Baxter Bulletin, Mountain Home, Arkansas, March 8, 2012:

Maurice Hardy Seay, son of the late Gully Seay and Stella Wayland Seay, was born March 29, 1934 in Pineville, Arkansas. He departed this life March 5, 2012 at his home in Jordan, Arkansas at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 5 days. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. He was united in marriage to Martha Stevens and to this union two sons were born. Maurice served with the United States Army Military Police. During his working years, he was employed by Baxter Laboratory in Mountain Home, retiring after 20 years of employment. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of Pineville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law: Mike and Sherri Seay of Jordan and Mark and Lynn Seay of Mtn. View; two stepchildren: Darren Smith of Oklahoma City, OK and Scharme Medley of Gassville; one brother: Paul Seay of Guion; two sisters: Kathleen Burford and Peggy Seay both of Pineville; four grandchildren: Mika Douglas of Jordan, Mason Seay of Jordan, Casey Seay of Mtn. View, Markie Seay of Mtn. View; five step grandchildren: Kenzie, Kayla, Kaden, Kenna and Kendra Medley of Gassville; three great grandchildren: Preston Seay, Torri Douglas and Malcolm Douglas all of Jordan and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Jack Seay, Glen Seay, and Dale Seay.

Funeral service will be Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Garland Skidmore and Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will be at Pineville Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7 from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers: Lewis Moody, Reese Tubbs, Walter Boyd, Mark Medley, Jerry Dawson, Lee Goodson. Honorary Pallbearer: Dwight Wayland.

Memorials may be made to: Pineville Cemetery.
