Mrs. Stella Mae Burns 62 years old resident of Mount Gaylor, Arkansas, died Friday afternoon, April 15, 1949 at a Fort Smith, Arkansas Hospital after a long illness. She was the daughter of Logan Douglas and Mary Magurette Hale Short.
Mrs. Burns was a member of the Christian Church and had lived most of her life in El Paso, White county, Arkansas, until moving to Mount Gaylor.
She is survived by her husband, James Arlie Burns a brother of the late John Burns; three sons; one daughter; four brothers; and one sister.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Grizzard Cemetery at El Paso, Arkansas, under the direction of the Putman Funeral Home. The body was taken to El Paso at 9 a.m.. Monday.
