CALICO ROCK — Maria Roberta Savage Burgess, 76, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, in Calico Rock.
Born May 17, 1931, in Three Oaks, Mich., she was the daughter of Earl and Marion Ruth Votau Savage. She was united in marriage to Eldred Burgess in 1986. Early on in her working career, Maria taught school. Later she attended nursing school and graduated with a registered nurse degree. She was employed by White River Medical Center in Batesville and was the director of nursing at North Arkansas Life Care Center in Horseshoe Bend and Flippin Nursing Home.
Survivors include four sons, Steven Harrington of Oregon, Kevin Harrington of Texas, Russell Harrington of Missouri and John Harrington of South Dakota; three daughters, Karen Mazzetti of Texas, Emmy Froderman of Missouri and Ruth Schmidt of Colorado; 22 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Linda Stanley; a granddaughter; four brothers; and three sisters.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reeves Pine Grove Chapel. Burial will be at Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers are Russell Harrington, John Harrington, Ken Schmidt and Harold Burgess.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
