August 19, 1931 - September 1, 2010
Lola E. Smallwood Coombes, 79, of Van Buren died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She was born August 19, 1931 in Crawford County.
She was a homemaker, an active member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren, and a member of the sewing circle for the Old Rock School House in Cedarville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mae Smallwood; one son, Larry Coombes; as well as one brother, Keith Smallwood.
She is survived by her husband, Hubert Coombes of the home; one daughter, Lori Jones of Van Buren; two sons, Rick Coombes of Van Buren and Bruce Coombes of Dyer; four sisters, Patsy Blain of Van Buren, Betty Harlock of Minnesota, Earlene Lattin of Alma and Madeline Holland of Alma; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 10:00 am at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam.
Pallbearers were Brandon Coombes, Christopher Coombes, Hunter Coombes, Raymond Davis, Wayne Tiffin and Steve Smallwood.
