Myrtle Nina Angel, age 89, from Booneville, Arkansas, died Friday, July8, 2011, in Booneville. She was born on Oct 15, 1921, in Pikeville, Tennessee, to Charley and Hallie Cox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wendell Angel, one son, Frank Wendell Angel, and one granddaughter, Tedra Smith, and nine brothers and sisters.
Myrtle worked at the Sanatorium in Booneville for twenty years and retired from Oak Manor Nursing Center in 1986. She loved to read, work in her flower garden and feed her birds. Her life was not easy, and she fought so hard not to leave us, but each child and grandchild will have a special memory to hold until we can be with her again.
She is survived by five children, Randell Earl Angel, Jimmy Ray Angel, Kitty Lou Smith and Carolyn Stewart, all from Booneville, Arkansas, and JoAnn Coggins from Searcy, Arkansas; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
