SPRINGDALE — Opal Mae Pierce, 77, of Springdale died Oct. 4, 2008, at her home. She was born May 24, 1931, in Choctaw to Jesse Mackey Sr. and Leanna Smith Mackey.

She was a homemaker and a Christian. She enjoyed fishing, painting, crocheting and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Pierce, in 1998.

Survivors include her son, James Pierce and wife Candy of Washington, Mo.; five daughters, Patsy Davis and husband Jerry of Springdale, Ruthie Drain of Springdale, Reba Foster and husband Dennis of Fayetteville, Bonnie Ingram and husband Bobby of Bentonville and Connie Bowen of Springdale; three brothers, Jesse Mackey Jr. of Greenland, Jay Mackey of Montana and Joe Mackey of Johnson; five sisters, Margie Ellis of Columbia, Mo., Wanda Bourquin, Deloris Nelson and Margaret Burnley, all of Fayetteville, and Shirley Cantu of Texas; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale, online at www.memfuneral.com. Cecil Sugg will officiate.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Ingram, William Foster, Travis Drain, Kevin Sisemore, Adrian West, Darin Ramey and Casey Cloer.
