Mrs. Marnette Hickman Atkinson, age 53, died Tuesday, April 6, at Bradley County Memorial Hospital. A native of Bradley County, Mrs. Atkinson was born March 20, 1918. She was a daughter of the late John Alex and Hattie Trussell Hickman. Mrs. Atkinson was the wife of Julius Atkinson who survives. She was a teacher of the Warren Public School System and a member of the Walnut Church of Christ. Other survivors include one daughter; five sisters, Mrs. Margie Hargis, Hamburg, Mrs. Vastel Russell, Louann, Mrs. Verie Keller, Hot Springs, Mrs. Virgie Loveless, Wilmar, and Mrs. Evelyn Forrest, Hermitage. Funeral services were at Frazer's Chapel Thursday, April 8, by Larry Caruthers and All Wiese. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. The family asks that those wishing to give memorials, please give to the American Cancer Society.
