Mrs. G. L. Hale, former resident of Camden died in Asheville, N.C. Wednesday morning. She had been living in Ashville with her son William for the past few years. Prior to that she lived in Hot Springs after moving away from Camden. Her husband who died several years ago was a well known rural mail carrier here for many years. Mrs. Hale was active in the First Christian Church here for many years. She is survived by tw3o sons, William Hale of Ashville and Walter Hale of Albany, California. Funeral services will be held at the graveside in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery at 4 p.m. Friday by Dr. George Cartwright pastor of the First Christian Church. Proctor Funeral service will be in charge. The body will arrive in Gurdon Friday at 12:55 p.m. and be met there by Proctor's. It will be on the Missouri Pacific southbound passenger train. Pallbearers will be J. S. Shaddock, Willard Pope, W. A. Daniel, Al Rose, George Shankle and Ronald Packard. (Camden News - April 7, 1955)
