T.C. (Thomas Carney Sr.) Reid, aged 70 years and 3 months, died early Friday (4 Oct 1928) at his home at Beedeville, after a short illness with pneumonia.
Mr. Reid was born near Franklin (fulton-now Izard county), this state, (the son of William Lee Reid 1831-1901 and Mary Ann Moore 1834-1865) and moved to this county in 1898. He was married twice and is survived by two sons, W.L.(Walter Lee Sr) Reid of Beedeville and R.A. (Robert Allen) Reid of El Reno, Okla. and two daughters, Mrs. Tinnie (Mary Tennessee) McMinn of Remmel and Mrs. Ada (Ada Ann) Neldon of McFadden, by his first marriage (to Martha J Bell 1856-1902); by his second marriage, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie C. (Minnie Sebelle Huey) Reid, and three sons, Henry Henry Davis Sr), Eugene (Eugene Debs), and T.C. (Thomas Carney), Jr. of Beedeville, and five daughters, Misses Jeffie (Jeffie Beatrice), Lillie (Lillie Corrine), Rubie (Rubye La Von), Vivian (Mary Vivian) Reid and Mrs. Hazel (Hazel Elizabeth) Mason of Beedeville. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sophie (Sophronia Lee Francis) Soden of Tuckerman, Mrs. Tom (Balsoria Elizabeth) Walker of Hardy, and two brothers, G.C. (George Campbell) Reid of Tuckerman and Jesse (Jesse Lee) Reid of Sheridan, and 17 grandchildren, Mrs. Elsie (Clara Elizabeth) Melville, Misses Irene, Grace (Grace Elizabeth), and Carrol (Caryl Ruth) McMinn, Jodie (Joseph Carney Sr) McMinn, Mrs. Ralph (Marjorie Ellen May) McDonald, Homer and Willie (William Harrison) May, Misses Estha (Mary Esther) and Nellie (Nellie Grey) Hess, Mrs. James (Gatha Ola Reid) Melville, Lowell (Marion Lowell) Reid, little Margaree Harrison and baby Neldon, Kathleen and Baby Reid, and two great grandchildren, Lena Katherine and Clara Elizabeth Melville and Baby May.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, obeying the gospel at the age of 28 years and living a consistent Christian for 42 years.
The funeral services were conducted by Elder Joe Blue of Morriston at Remmel, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment in Remmel Cemetery. Funeral arrangements in charge of the New Furniture Store.
