ANNABELLE W. HANKINS

Mrs. Annabelle Wayt Hankins, 88, 218 Sutton St, Fayetteville, a well-known civic and religious leader of the Fayetteville-Springdale area, died July 11. She was the wife of the late Rev. Herbert Clyde Hankins, prominent evangelist, preacher and radio personality of this area. Born Jan. 14, 1886, in Holdrege, Neb., she was the daughter of John James Wayt and Caroline Elizabeth Lutz Wayt, a prominent pioneer family from Pennsylvania. Mrs. Hankins was active in religious and civic affairs for many years, having served as president of the United Methodist Women on several occasions and was a life member of the organization. She also served as Civic Club president when she lived in Springdale.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy H. Thompson, Shreveport, La., Mrs. Elizabth H. Coxsey, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Margaret H. Bailey, Salinas, Calif., and Mrs. Virginia H. Fields, Cincinnati, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Moore's Chapel, Fayetteville, with Dr. Joel Cooper and H. D. McCarty officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery in the Springdale area under direction of Moore's.
