Franklin 2 Jun 1921 - 5 Jan 2004
Son of Fran K and Della McKnight Cochran

Frank M.'s childhood dream was to become a business man like his dad and go into the hardware business, that became a reality after he received his BA degree in Business from Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. In 1946, following his service in the US Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II, Frank M. took over the family hardware store and operated it until it closed in 1984. Besides his military service, Frank M. also had a long history of public service within the Bradley community. In the 1960s he oversaw the development and installation of a modern water and sewer system in the town of Bradley, and then was the principal operator of the system for several years. He was also a member of the Bradley Volunteer Fire Department for several years.
A family tradition that Frank M. continued until his death was collecting -- the Cochran-McKnight Family Museum in Bradley is a treasure trove of family memories. He assembled a vast array of items, almost exclusively from his family. The museum includes books, clippings and photographs, including those of his grandparents wedding in 1894. Other items included are furniture and appliances, tools, telephones, office equipment, and household items such as kitchen utensils dating back to the early 1900s.
In the museum is Frank M.'s mother's diaries and a album that she began that now holds over 1000 obituaries. There is a collection of letters filled with historic facts and human emotion, including letters he wrote to his family while serving in the South Pacific during World War II.
