Obituary from Roller Funeral Homes Website:

Lillie Mae Moody Jones left Tallahassee, Florida to be with the Lord on
May 2, 2012 at home in the arms of her husband and daughter following a long illness and fruitful and loving lifetime lasting 87 years. She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Herbert Rudell Jones and a daughter Robbie Nell Jones also of Tallahassee.

Lillie grew up in Baxter County Arkansas on a large farm where she amusingly recalled “sleeping with the sheep” at times. She attended Halls Chapel Primary School and Norfork High School. While working in St. Louis she wrote a letter and requested Herbert to “meet me here in St. Louis“, and he did! She was a wonderful homemaker, mother and also was employed throughout the years by Hercules Powder Company in Kansas, Belk Lindsey of Florida, and Toy King Stores.

Lillie was a chosen one of the Lord, and baptized by the late Reverend Carl Davis at Jordan Landing in Lake Norfork. She was a 20 year member at Thomasville Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee, and a member in absence at Trimble Campground Church in Dolph, Arkansas. She received the gift of outstanding ability to memorize and recite Holy Scripture in 1978. One of her favorite passages was Romans Chapter 8. She shared her gift of renewing of the mind by God’s Holy Spirit through recital messages of various chapters of the Bible in over 130 presentations during fourteen years. Her recitals took place at the locations of WPIO Radio Station in Titusville, Florida, WWBC in Cocoa Florida, TV Channel 52 in Winter Park, Florida, the Sharpes State Prison, as well as presentation/recitals in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Alabama. She had notable accomplishments of memorization through beautiful, insightful compilations of Bible verses from several Bible chapters, which tell the Christmas and Easter Stories with musical accompaniments.

Other survivors include a brother Orville Moody of Bolivar, Missouri, a step-brother Dois Rand of Winfield, Missouri, two sisters, Daisy Mae Jones of Roland Arkansas, and Reda Mae O’Dell of Caulfield, Missouri, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was a lovely person and very precious to the Jones and Moody families as well as her many friends. She will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 5, 2012 from Noon to 9:00 P.M., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the family plot at Hand Cemetery, Jordan, Arkansas. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation may be made in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
