Lorene Walker Montgomery of Judsonia, Arkansas formerly of Melbourne, Arkansas
Lorene Walker Montgomery, daughter of the late Perry Caswell Walker and Maude Lee Cooper Walker, was born October 15, 1920 in Keifer, Oklahoma. She departed this life February 3, 2013 in Searcy, Arkansas at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 19 days. She was united in marriage to Leon Montgomery on December 24, 1939 in Mountain View, Arkansas and to this union three children were born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, niece, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church in Melbourne, Arkansas.

Lorene leaves with us so many loving and happy memories of her life with friends and family who have gone on before her and us who are left behind.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Joan and Charles Gann of Searcy; one son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Beverly Montgomery of Judsonia; one stepbrother: Alton “Hoot” Rush of Calico Rock; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one nephew: Tommy Johnson of Searcy and a host of other cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years: Leon Montgomery; one son: Marcus Montgomery; one sister Faye Bryam; one brother: Frank Walker; two grandsons: Jimmy Montgomery and Covin Gann.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 6 beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church or Melbourne Cemetery Association.

(Note: This is one part of a three part stone with Leon, Lorene, and Marcus listed. Lorene on the right, Leon on the right middle and Marcus on the left middle. There is a blank stone on the left of Marcus that is most likely for Marcus's wife.)
