The Calico Rock Progress, Calico Rock, Arkansas, August 12, 1949:
Mrs. Effie Jane Sanders, aged 56, died at her home near Dolph, Tuesday. She was reared in the vicinity of Dolph and spent practically all her life there. She untied with the Baptist Church early in life.
She was married in 1918 to Carnie Dockins, to which union five children were born, two dying in infancy. Surviving are her husband: three sons, Amel, Paul and Clifford; her mother, Mrs. Nancy Ann Sanders of Dolph; one sister, Mrs. Ada Griggs of St. Louis, Mo., seven brothers, Noah, Arthur, Columbus, Roy, Ernest, Homer and Tim Sanders all of Dolph; one half-sister, Mrs. Annie Hively and a half-brother, Robert Sanders, both of Calico Rock, and one grandchild.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. L. G. Porterfield of Wideman, were held at Cross Roads, Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in Cross Roads Cemetery, with the Roller Funeral Service in charge.
