Mrs. Wilma Jean Egger Campbell, 79, of Mayflower, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 4, 2004, after a lengthy illness.

She was born Sept. 6, 1924, in Bigelow, Ark., to the late William Edward Egger and Emma Cassie Johnson Egger. She was a Christian and member of Bigelow Baptist Church.



She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Luther E. Egger; and sisters, Reva Burge and Wanda Maxine Egger.

Mrs. Campbell and her husband, Johnnie, spent lots of time square dancing. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She and Mr. Campbell were the founders of the Johnson family reunion, this year being the 19th annual. Mrs. Campbell previously lived in West Memphis, Ark., where she attended First Baptist Church. She did volunteer work at the VA Hospital in Memphis and was on the board of the Ladies Auxiliary there.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband of 56 years, Johnnie Ray Campbell; daughters, Janet Oaks of Mayflower, Carolyn Hovenkamp and husband, Leo, of Conway, Kay Ross and husband, Richard, of Bogota, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a brother, Marion Egger of Tyler, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home of Conway.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Bigelow Baptist Church with the Rev. James Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Volman Cemetery in Bigelow.

Pallbearers will be Woody Burge, Robert Burge, David Andrews, Jeff Glover, Brett Johnson and Bart Johnson.

Memorials may be made to Volman Cemetery Fund, c/o Chart Bank, Bigelow, Ark.
