Mrs. Clyde B. Spencer, age 86, of Fox Ridge Estate, Bryant, Arkansas, formerly of Round Pond, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
Mrs. Spencer was born November 6, 1918, in Illinois, and was the daughter of Charlie Gower and. Lucy Woodard Gower. Living most of her adult life in St. Francis County, she was a devoted housewife and mother. She served as the Round Pond postmaster from 1981 to 1991. The last ten years, Mrs. Spencer has resided in Bryant where she attended First Southern Baptist Church until her health would no longer permit.
In 1942, she married Baldwin D. Spencer, who preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters; Shirley Bragg of Benton, Sherry Norman of Bryant, and Cindy Ryan of Earle. She also leaves behind one sister, Inez Johnston of Brookport, Illinois, and three sisters-in-law, Sylvia Spencer of Bryant, Connie Gower of Brookport, Illinois, and Lois Gower of Greenville, North Carolina, seven grand-children and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, March 3, at 1:00 P.M. at Forrest Park Cemetery, in Forrest City, with Dr. Jim Lagrone officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, prior to the service, at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
