A funeral service for Barbara Jean Johnson of Jordan, AR, will be 2:00PM Friday, December 4, 2009, at Galatia Assembly of God, with Reverend Dave Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 til 8:00PM Thursday at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Barbara died Monday, November 30, 2009, in Little Rock at the age of 68.
Barbara Johnson was born Wednesday, October 8, 1941, in Casa Grande, Arizona, the daughter of Floyd and Mary Beatrice Hill Spears. She married Benus Johnson, Jr. on October 5, 1962 at Paso Robles, California and worked as a florist. Barbara lived in the Twin Lakes area since 1981, moving from Greefield, California. She sang in the Revelairs Quartet in California, was the former owner of the Sister Creek Resort in Promise Land and she liked to arrange flowers for weddings and working with the youth of her church.
Barbara Johnson is survived by her husband, Bernus Johnson, of Jordan; her mother, Mary Spears of Pebble Beach, CA; three sons, Mike (Brenda) Johnson, Mark Johnson, and Mitch Johnson all of Mt. Home, AR; six grandchildren, Chad, Lisa, Cassie (Justin), Matt, Mitchell, and Allyssa; one great grandchild, Gemma; one brother Kenneth (Debbie)Spears; one niece, Rebeckah Mitzner; and one nephew, Zachary Spears all of Pebble Beach, CA.
She was preceded in death by her father and one nephew, Justin Spears.
Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery, Norfork, Arkansas with Mark Johnson, Mitch Johnson, Kenneth Spear, Robert Parker, Justin Mondy, Shawn Moody as Pallberaers.
Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
